Free yourself from the shackles of your network and Apple. To unlock and jailbreak your iPhone, begin by choosing the model that you have.
What is jailbreaking?
Jailbreaking is a process that allows iPhones to run unofficial code on their devices bypassing Apple's official distribution mechanism, the App Store. Once jailbroken, iPhone users are able to download many applications previously unavailable through the App Store via unofficial installers such as Cydia and Icy. Cydia app store founder Jay Freeman estimates that 4 million (out of 40 million) iPods and iPhones are jailbroken.
What is unlocking?
The process by which the iPhone is made compatible with networks other than the one it was specifically “locked” to work with. After unlocking, the iPhone can be used on any GSM network in the world.
